Recently, the boyfriend and I travelled across the long stretch of Georgia Interstate called I-16 (He actually drove that part) to Savannah, GA. While the true reason was to say goodbye to a wonderful woman, we ended up turning it into a quick weekend trip! We explored and wandered everywhere and definitely enjoyed eating all of the local cuisine!
The thing I kept saying over and over to boyfriend though was “Let’s move here! It’s just so PRETTY”. While that idea was completely shut down, I did love wandering around the streets, photographing way too many doors and sidewalks, and just truly living in the moment.
There are a couple of things I just fell in love with while visiting Savannah. I love the way the trees interlock together and the Spanish moss grows upon them. I feel like Grandmother Willow could just pop her head out with a great big yawn. Then she would start directing me on how I should be living my life (yes…I know these aren’t willow trees but it was how I felt). The way the sunlight peaks through the branches and changes how the light looks every couple of minutes. I love how you can see this town has LIVED. The sidewalks aren’t even and the houses are old. But it was still breathtakingly beautiful.
All in all, I would truly love to photograph a Savannah Wedding with all of this as a backdrop!
