Back in January, I made this horrendously stupid idea that I should start this 2017 year with a bang. And boy did I ever. I convinced one of my best friends Allison that we should go to DisneyLand for my birthday and run the Star Wars 10K to make 2017 the year of being healthy! Have I run since then? God no….
We also did a couple of Wine Tastings around Los Angeles. If you have been following me, you can kind of tell that I love wine… and food. I’ve always wanted to do a wine tour in California. While area Los Angeles didn’t have the best wine selection, it did have some amazing Champagne that I will definitely go back and try again.
In addition to going to Disney and the Wine Tastings, we also wandered around Los Angeles and I even got to tour the WB studios! This TV nerd might have gone a little nuts when I saw the “FRIENDS” stage sign and then I got pictures of ALL the Batman vehicles and memorabilia. Yeah. Let’s be honest. I went super nuts. But it was nothing compared to when I saw the Harry Potter items. My poor friend. She had to put up with so much nerdiness that weekend.
Did you know that WB studios has a lot that is dedicated to being “Anywhere U.S.A.”? I’m not kidding. Within less than half a mile, I saw Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls, the steps of the Mayor’s office in Batman, and the New York Alley where Annie found Sandy. I had so much fun and I believe it was totally worth it. Scroll through my images below if you would like to see my nerdiness on display!
Finally, Allison showed me around the Hollywood walk of fame and all of the major iconic places in downtown Los Angeles. I didn’t know that so many of the famous theaters you see for the red carpets were all right next to each other! It was so cool to visit everything in person. I even found Robin Williams square. He is one of my very favorite actors. I know this sounds silly, but he helped me realize its okay to be weird. I think he put it best when he said “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”
Also, its kind of a tradition where I do a jumping picture in front of the Disney castles. Can’t stop. Won’t stop.
