An Enchanted Primrose Cottage Wedding
Megan & Michael’s wedding was one of the most magical kind of wedding for a photographer. It was a cloudy Georgia day and the changing light kept me on my toes and gave the pictures a dreamy look that I LOVE! Not to mention, they chose the Primrose Cottage, an iconic southern mansion, to have their pictures taken in front of! Their wedding was totally pin-worthy from Megan’s lacy wedding dress to the 3-tiered wedding cake, to the subtle wedding colors, Megan and Michael really knew what they were doing when it came to their wedding planning. All to say, their wedding day was a photographer’s dream.
For Megan & Michael, their wedding day was all about family and that’s what made it so special! One of my favorite moments was when Megan’s grandmother, mother, sister, and Megan all slow danced with their husbands! It was SO touching and sweet. SPEAKING OF! Listen to this, Megan was given the most touching wedding gift: a shawl that had been handed down through the Vande Corput women for generations. Megan’s grandmother made it, passed it on to Megan’s mom on her wedding day, then to Megan’s sister and then to Megan on her wedding day! This southern wedding was lovely and not one I’ll soon forget!
Megan & Michael’s Love Story
Before they were Mr. and Mrs., they were Megan & Micahel and their love story is one for the books. We all want our best friend’s approval when it comes to who we’re dating, but when it’s our best friend who introduces us in the first place, it’s like the cherry on top! Megan’s best friend of fifteen years met Michael through their campus ministry at The University of Georgia in Athens and she introduced the two. Fast forward to hangouts, to Skype calls between Megan and Michael, to Megan getting accepted to UGA, to becoming “official,” to a creekside proposal at Poole’s Mill Bridge!
Michael proposed in March when he told Megan that they were going to grab dinner, but to her surprise, they pulled over to a park instead. They walked down to the creek, walked by the rocks along the river, and that’s when Michael got down on one knee and asked Megan to marry him!
A Cator Woolford Gardens Engagement Session
I was lucky enough to photograph their engagement session at the Cator Woolford Gardens in Druid Hills, Georgia where the rain from earlier that day made their garden engagement session even dreamier! These photos were super romantic and to top it off there was a staircase that took their engagement photos to that true fairytale level! We had a wonderful day laughing and exploring the Georgia botanical gardens. As I finished up their engagement shoot, I couldn’t help but start dreaming about their Primrose Cottage wedding and like everything else, it was lovely.
