Marla and Peyton’s north Georgia wedding at West Ridge Church was SPECTACULAR. I don’t even know where to start. Being the wedding photographer for this amazing couple and their sweet little girl was so special. I’m excited to be able to share their story today.
Marla & Peyton’s North Georgia Wedding
I first met Marla and Peyton when I ran a contest for newly engaged couples who were looking for an Atlanta-based wedding photographer. I totally fell in love with their sweet engagement story and how adorably nerdy this little family is, and I selected them as the contest winners. Their engagement session was such an awesome way to get to know the two of them and little Lena. Plus, we had gorgeous fall foliage and it was a wonderful day. When they asked me to be their north Georgia wedding photographer, I was so pleased. You can see their Kennesaw Mountain engagement session by clicking here.
West Ridge Church Wedding Photography
Marla and Peyton had their ceremony and reception at West Ridge Church in Dallas, GA. The things that were most important to them when they were deciding on a wedding venue were traditional vows, family and friends, a religious ceremony, good food, and their daughter, Lena, to be included. Marla had been involved at West Ridge for years and plus, her brother and sister-in-law had also gotten married there. Being married in the same church as they were meant a lot to Marla.
This north Georgia church was such a delight to photograph! With high ceilings and a unique lighting, there was no shortage of interesting backdrops for Marla and Peyton’s wedding photography. Marla looked absolutely GORGEOUS in her David’s Bridal gown. (Plus, it had POCKETS!) When she came down the stairs and down the aisle, she was positively beaming. The happiness radiated off her!
I loved how they found ways to incorporate Lena into their day. These two put family first in every step of the wedding plan. During their ceremony, they poured sand into a vase to symbolize their family coming together. Marla and Peyton poured two colors of sand. Then, Lena, Marla, and Peyton poured the last color together as a family. I thought it was amazing how they made sure to include her all through the day. They even had a little Lena added on to their cake topper. SO SWEET.
Marla and Peyton, I had so much fun being your wedding photographer for your relaxed, family friendly wedding. I’m so happy that you asked me to be a part of your special day!
