How to Pick the Perfect Location for Your Engagement Photos

Sep 9, 2019

One of the most common things I hear from a couple is, “Heather, I don’t know where we should get our pictures taken!” Don’t fret, sweetie! The location can be anywhere you want it to be! Still need a couple of ideas?

Try somewhere that means something to both of you.

Cindy and Daniel spend a lot of time in downtown Decatur exploring all of the new restaurants that pop up. Because it is one of their favorite spots, downtown was at the top of their list when it came to picking a location. Not only are the eats good, but it’s also a vibrant and happenin’ place! The perfect backdrop for their love story!

Have a Photoshoot In Your Own Backyard

Okay, let’s talk about Ally, Taylor, and Chewie. Wait? Who? Chewie! He is Ally and Taylor’s dog who they walk around Alpharetta City Hall every week. So choosing to host their engagement pictures at city hall was a no brainer. What made it so great was that it was close by, familiar, personal, and comfortable (despite the chilly day)! And let’s be real, Alpharetta City Hall IS Chewie’s stomping grounds so he, of course, had to make the cutest cameo ever.

Think Iconic!

If you want your photos to be popping with color, art, and life, look no further than Atlanta’s street art scene. Zena and Aladdin chose to have their photos taken here and I couldn’t have been more excited. The murals in Atlanta are constantly changing so there’s always a variety of backgrounds to choose from! Which means, your photos are going to be one-of-a-kind!

Build Your Own Fairytale

I have three words for you: Magical, Serene, Romantic. What better way to set the scene of an engagement than in a garden? You’ve got the greenery, an abundance of colors, and sometimes you even get a beautiful staircase that elevates your photos to fairytale status! Megan and Michael decided to take their photos at the Cator Woolford Gardens and even though it was a rainy day, the gardens still proved to be perfectly picturesque!

Remember…it’s your love that makes a location special! Wherever you choose, as long as you show up expecting to have fun and to goof around a little, your love will outshine any backdrop! Alright, got the perfect spot picked out? LET’S GO!
