So Funny thing. I have actually captured Cindy and Daniel’s portraits before. And everyone thought they were engaged that time when in reality, I had just asked Cindy if she and Daniel could model for me. It’s funny how things turn around huh? So when they asked me to shoot their Downtown Decatur engagement, I leapt at the chance to shoot them again! These two are an unbelievably funny couple and some of my dear friends. I love them dearly and I’m so excited about this session!
How They Met
They met each other through friends at a Halloween Party and bonded over the fact that they were both wearing onesies. She was in a Wonder Woman onesie and he was in a cow onesie. Of course, it also helped that they both love traveling. Heck! Daniel proposed to Cindy while in SCOTLAND because they were doing the two things they loved most: traveling and being with each other (read about that below).
How He Asked
Daniel was telling me the proposal story during the session and I couldn’t stop laughing! Apparently, they had booked a guided tour through the Highlands and up to Loch Ness. Daniel had wanted to get a very scenic shot for the proposal, but because it was so windy, Cindy wouldn’t get out of the bus! They had stopped a couple of times and she wouldn’t budge. Finally, when they got to Loch Ness, she got out of the bus. Daniel got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him on the shores of of the lake. Cindy says he didn’t say much, but Daniel says he said a whole speech. Who knows who is telling the truth? But no matter what, she said yes! Then as they were walking back to their bus, their driver had disappeared. It had gotten to the point where someone was about to go look for him, when he comes running up! He said he was trying to get them a bottle of champagne to celebrate, but because it was 8:45 in the morning, the store wouldn’t sell it!
Cindy & Daniel
Thank you both so much for letting me capture your engagement session. I can’t wait to capture your wedding day at your home in Downtown Decatur! See you then!
