An April Wedding at The Chimneys at Big Canoe
It was a beautiful spring wedding at The Chimneys at Big Canoe in the North Georgia mountains. It was the perfect wedding venue with picturesque views and rustic vibes. Their pastel wedding colors really complemented the outdoor ceremony. Not-to-mention, Katie and Jeremy are the sweetest couple and I had such a blast with them and their families! It was a day spent laughing, running from rain, and watching two people, very in love, tie the knot.
About that…the outdoor wedding ceremony thing. That’s what makes spring weddings risky, but isn’t a little risk exciting? Exciting like being chased back into the venue by a sudden thunderstorm as soon as Katie and Jeremy were walking down the aisle as husband and wife! Should I also mention that there was a lingering tornado watch throughout the whole day? Not to worry, though, Katie and Jeremy didn’t let it rain on their parade! The storm cleared up just in time for them to have their first dance as husband and wife! They danced outside under the twinkling lights that were decorating the trees; Katie in her beautiful, flowing wedding dress with flowers laced in the details and Jeremy in his tux. It was the loveliest.
Katie and Jeremy really went all out for their wedding day and their wedding cake was no exception. On one of the cakes, there was a cake topper that read, “You are my lobster!” It was too cute. As big fans of UA the other was a chocolate cake dedicated to the team. Want to hear something even sweeter? Katie’s “something old” was her great grandmother’s gloves and veil. It was such a special touch that really added to their vintage wedding theme. Speaking of, their table decorations were vintage books and picture frames! No doubt that this wedding was the epitome of pin-worthy!
Their wedding day was beautiful, but how they met was just the cutest because it’s not every day that you get to hear a love story that could convincingly begin with “Once Upon a Time…”, but today you do. It’s the kind of story where two strangers get their orders swapped at a restaurant and end up sitting next to each other because all of the other seats were taken. That was the night Katie and Jeremy’s life together was set in motion.
A short time after, they had their first official date on April 14, 2018 at the Atlantic Grill in Atlanta, Georgia. Jeremy was running late and Katie was waiting for him on the bench outside of the restaurant. This bench became a special spot in their relationship, so special that Jeremy even decided to pop the question to Katie at that very place. That’s why they eventually decided to make April 14th their wedding date!
