An Alhambra Hall Wedding
Rain makes spring weddings tricky, but the forecast called for sunshine and the bride, Amanda, and I both did happy dances! Awesome, right!? Well…right when we were doing their couple’s portraits, the rain started to pour. Amanda and her groom Billy were awesome and whenever there was a break in the rain, they would run outside with me to shoot their portraits! They were total troopers. Here’s the really great news, it stopped raining for the outdoor ceremony! Yay!
What made this South Carolina wedding so dreamy besides getting to shoot at the Alhambra Hall? Let me tell you about those wedding details. Their colors were dusty rose and dusty blues with gold accents! Then you had Amanda’s blue wedding shoes, her lace wedding dress with buttons down the back, the wedding cake decorated in roses, and gorgeous rose centerpieces. Not-to-mention, they gathered all kinds of yummy treats from around Charleston for their wedding guests. They had salt water taffy, teas, and praline candies! YUM.
While their guests were being escorted out to get their sparklers for the exit, Amanda and Billy were able to share a private “last dance” together in Alhambra Hall. It was a special moment that really topped of the wedding day!
Amanda & Billy’s Love Story
Before the wedding, there was the beginning. The really good part of the relationship where your love blooms and grows. Long distance relationships aren’t easy, but when it’s meant to be, true love will see it through. Amanda was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Billy was in Charleston, South Carolina, but they still made it work! After meeting each other through a friend from college, they knew their relationship was one worth the miles. When Amanda came to join Billy in Charleston, everything lined up! She got an amazing job teaching 3rd grade and soon after, Billy proposed.
They went to the restaurant where they first met, walked by the waterfront, and that’s when Billy asked Amanda to be his bride!
An Engagement Session at The Battery at White Point Garden
Amanda and Billy’s White Point Garden Engagement session was everything a wedding photographer could dream of. There were cobblestone alleyways, breath-taking architecture, and a bay that opens up to the Atlantic. I loved getting to spend the day with Amanda and Billy in downtown Charleston, but was even more excited to be their wedding photographer and capture their wedding at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina!
Amanda & Billy
You were both just the sweetest and it was such a joy to get to join you for your engagement shoot and your wedding day. I loved getting to know you both, your French bulldog, Wallace, too! I wish you all joy, love, and happiness!
